Well, I painted this on my high school English classroom door! lol I worked on this last year for many months!
So what I painted was a window on the actual door. Through the window you can see a scenery that has a pathway which is winding through the hills, up towards a castle. (Shakespeare theme
) On the pathway is a lady on a horse. And the lady I painted on the horse is actually my English teacher. 
She really loved it. I also painted a bannister outside of the window, which has a little grey squirrel sitting on it. To the top left of the door, is the actual window built into the door, so I just left it the way it was. I painted all of his in acrylic, after sanding and priming the door.

ahaha I have a class in this room this year! I really love this door, it's probably my favorite in the whole school. You really captured the illusion of depth in it, the perspective is just awesome. Not to mention I love the castle~
