Nature in Wood

This is a project I did for my sculpture class! And if you can find it, it spells out the word "Nature". So the elements of nature, such as the trees and animals, spell out that very word.

To break it down, the 3 trees on the left represent the letter 'N', the fox burrow is the 'A', the tree in the middle is the T, the Swan is supposed to be the U, the R is the small tree branch and the edge of the wave, and the E is the swirl in the wave!

For this project, we were intended to use plywood, so that was mostly what I used. I used the plywood to shape most of the elements in my piece, not including the background or the wooden base. It was very labour intensive when I had to shave the trees to its shape with some tool! (I don't even know what the tools were called! lol) After it was all shaved and smoothed out with sandpaper I then painted it with acrylic.
